Stampin' for the weekend

Sorry a last minute post ... one of those weeks again ... this card is for a special friend whose birthday I thought was next week, silly me, I tried to incorporate it with this weeks challenge for Stampin' for the weekend which asks for a masked card. Am off again on my travels, so cant really tell you much about it as I have to dash. I used Hanglar images and the leaves are woodware. Hope he likes the card .. I think I just caught the postie xxxxxxxxx

Stampin' for the weekend

This week has been a sad one for us all as we had the funeral of Peter's dear brother Rob, Rest in Peace Rob. Today was my beautiful mums birthday, it started with mum feeling under the weather but by this afternoon she perked up, I hope soon they will start investigations to determine the cause of why she is feeling so poorly. My card this week is the one I made for her birthday today. The challenge at Stampin' for the Weekend was to take us all back to the 70’s and take some inspiration from the following song titles!
Tangled up in Blue – Bob Dylan
Three Times a Lady – The Commodores
Seasons in the Sun – Terry Jacks
I choose Tangled up in Blue (even though I too dont know this song) I chose Tangled up in Blue – Bob Dylan and dedicate it to my very special mum. I love you soooooo much xxxx

Card for the Stampin for the weekend challenge 5

Well I managed to do the card for this weeks challenge, with things being a bit hectic this end I wondered if I would get time, well a managed to trash my front room in the process, to look at it now and the mess I made you'd think Id made 20 cards lol

The card is made with papers from the latest Designer Extreme II disc at Bearly Mine Designs

lots of yummy papers to fit any colour combination you choose..... very helpful to me as I have colour blindness with some shades !!! They are labelled yellows, blues, purples etc

The image is a stamped one kindly sent to me by my good friend Donna, thanks xx, I coloured with water colour pencils.

I had a bash at distressing .....but it got ME distresses rather than the image, I used water colour and some eye shadow from a pallette I dont use ( never let it be said that we cant improvise !!!) then found my chalks eventually (must have moved them when having a de-clutter) well between all those attempts it got distressed of a sort .... my inks are with my granddaughter who is busy with a project for school, I hope this is a technique I can improve on, fingers crossed.

The sentiment is computor generated.

The flowers are my first attempt with FredSheSaid flowers I really like the result, even though I dont cope too well with the fiddly cutting out ... I think the flowers just finished the card off nicely. I added a bit of sparkle to the petals and the gemstones are from my stash.

This is my card for this weeks http://stampinfortheweekend.blogspot.com/ challenge. I must try to get the card done at the start of the challenge rather than at the eleventh hour lol. the challenge was to make a card with a pocket. Here is mine.

The papers I used are from the K - OLOGY 6 x 6 Designer papers by K & Company. The Tilda image coloured with water colour pencils, the flowers and brads from stash and also the ribbon. Thanks for looking, Cathy xx
